We offer serious classical and contemporary training from youth to adult in a positive and progressive program of study. Performance opportunities are provided through annual spring concert performances, informal showings and student participation in the dance center's repertory youth performance companies. Classes are offered year-round in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, musical stage, hip-hop, and Irish step dance.

Shenandoah Contemporary Dance Theatre

Dance & Company's resident repertory performing company, offers students performance opportunities and pre-professional training. Members are selected by way of open audition. The SCDT has been selected in such prestigious venues as Kid's Cafe (NYC), Brooklyn Arts Exchange (NYC) and The New Dance Festival (VA). SCDT often hosts the Shenandoah Teen Collaborative Festival in the Spring. The SCDT is currently inactive, but may re-open to dancers in the future dependent on interest.

Auditions for the SCDT are typically held in September. Intermediate and Advanced dancers are encouraged to audition. See links below for more information:

Tappin' Company

Directed by Rebecca Thomas, this top-ranked, award-winning competition troupe provides additional training and performance opportunities to advanced tap, jazz, and musical stage students. Tappin' Company members have participated in multiple regional and national competitions and workshop conventions yearly. Tappin’ Company is currently inactive, but may re-open to dancers in the future.
